Igniting Young Minds
The Government of India is implementing various schemes under 'The Youth Leadership and Personality Development Programme' in order to create a strong youth contingent within the country. The intent is to engage and channelise the energy of youth in a positive manner for nation building.
In line with the Government objectives for the youth, Vatsalya Trust Mumbai (VTM) also runs a program called 'Igniting Young Minds'. Under this program, VTM hosts sessions for college youths to seed and sensitize their minds towards the work for social causes for upliftment for the society, Also, along with student groups from various colleges, VTM executes social projects for getting insights into new areas of social development and enriching existing areas.
On 25th July 2022, 30 students from Mulund College of Commerce, Mumbai visited VTM. The students understood the social projects executed by VTM. They also took a tour of the VTM Kanjurmarg set-up and visited the various departments Patient Assistant Program, Orphanage, Adoption, Computer Skilling through e-Vidya and the Rehabilitation center for Divyangs.
Students were impressed with the extent of social work done by VTM and were inspired with the future projects planned by this NGO.
The session ended with a pledge taken by each student on 'how they will contribute to the social cause for the upliftment of our society' as they develop into responsible professionals contributing to the development of India.
